Davidson Glacier

located near Haines Alaska and recounted by John Muir in his travels around Glacier Bay.

Davidson Glacier, Alaska

Davidson was one of my favorite memories of 2016 despite the schlep to get there. From the cruise ship in Skagway, to a small boat, to a bus, to a hike and finally a kayak. Pshew! But believe me, it was worth it.

When Mother Nature Whispers in Your Ear

Hiking up to Davidson Glacier (see my prior Post), I was fixated on its natural majesty. Then Mother Nature whispered in my ear. “Fool! Look down and see what I have made for you.” And Sure enough. The Glacial silt runoff kept Mother Nature untied and undefeated.
