Storm King Art Center

Over 125 Magificent pieces of large scale sculpture grace this amazing 500 acre outdoor museum. Open to the public in 1960 thanks to the vision and generosity of The Ralph E. Ogden Foundation, it is positioned on a plateau between Schunnemunk and Storm King Mountains not far from West Point in New York’s Hudson Valley. Amazingly, an additional 1,500 acres has since been acquired to protect the pristine site lines presented.

World class artists’ works abound in this very special place: Alexander Calder, Henry Moore and Louise Nevelson, just to name a few. There is also a museum building, designed by architect Maxwell Kimball and erected in 1935.

I present to you several extracts that I captured of Alexander Lieberman’s Adonai. It barely begins to scratch the surface of this memorable asset to the world of art. I look forward to many return visits.
